October Ipsy Glam Bag 2013

Here's what I received in my October Glam Bag.

The makeup bag is really cute.

Zoya - Nail Polish

I received this polish in the colour Neve .  It's a very pretty blue.  It's a great quality polish with long wear and I would definitely buy this brand again if I see it in a store .  It retails for $8 at zoya.com.

Big Sexy Hair - Blow Dry Volumizing Gel

I received a travel size of this product.  This gel is great.  It's just as good as the chi silk infusion I usually use .  I will be buying this again.  This size retails for $5 at ulta.com.

Coastal Scents - Medium Shadow Brush

I really liked this brush.  I'm definitely going to buy more of this brand of brushes.  This brush retails for $2 .49 at coastalscents.com.

La Fresh - Oil-Free Face Cleanser

I liked these wipes but I don't think I would purchase them again.  I think I'll stick with my baby wipes.  Much cheaper.  I got a trial size bag of the wipes.  There was 10 in the bag. This retails at approx. $4 and can be found in full size of 30 wipes at lafreshgroup.com.

Wet N Wild - Fergie Centerstage Collection

I received this in the colour Desert Festival.  I love Wet N Wild products.  They have long lasting wear and are super affordable .  This palette retails for approx. $5 and can be purchased at wnwbeauty.com.  You can also purchase Wet N Wild products at Walmart.

My bag this month totaled approx. $25.  If you are interested in signing up to receive a Glam Bag go to ipsy.com

September Ipsy Glam Bag 2013

I signed up for a subscription at ipsy.com.  After filling out a profile, every month you will receive a small makeup bag with beauty products.  It's $10 a month plus $4.95 shipping.  With the US exchange I was charged $16.95.  I was on a waiting list for 2 months before I started receiving my Glam Bag.  There are some higher end products and some lower end stuff.  I was so happy with what I received for my first bag.  I loved everything I got. You also get discounts on the products you receive if you would like to purchase them. Here is what I received in my September bag.

When I received my Glam Bag I knew what it was right away.  It came in a pink metallic envelope .

In the envelope it came with a sample of Michelle Phan's The Life Palette in Career Life Look.

It also came with a card with discounts for all the products I received plus many more.

The makeup bag I received was a very pretty blue.

I got 5 products in my bag this month.

This is what I received:

Chella - Ivory Lace Highlighter

I really love this.  I've used this for a few different things.  I've used it on my brow bone for highlighting or on my water line to make my eyes look bigger. It's also great for hiding blemishes and red spots. You can purchase it at chella.com. I would definitely purchase this again or a product similar.  It retails for $18.

It's So Big Volumizing Mascara By Elisabeth Mott

I liked this mascara.  I don't think I would purchase it again but I will use it up.  I only received a trial size of this.  You can purchase this at elizabethmott.com.  It retails for the full size for $19.99.

Pop Beauty - Pouty Pop Crayon

The colour I received was Rose Romance .  I really liked this lip crayon.  It has long lasting wear.  I'm not sure if I would order this online but would definitely pick it up if I saw it in the store .  You can purchase it at popbeauty.co.uk/.  It comes in a pack of 6 for $25 so approx. $4 each.

NYX - Single Eye Shadow

The colour I received was Nutmeg (118).  I loved this colour.  I will pick up this colour again.  It was long lasting and easy to blend.  You can purchase it at nyxcosmetics.com for $6.99.

Starlooks - Obsidian Kohl Eye Pencil

I never use pencil liners but I found this very easy to use .  I don't know if I could bring myself to spend the $12 for a pencil but I do recommend it. You can purchase it at starlooks.com.

So for the $16.95 I sent I received $51 worth of makeup.  I love that it's a surprise every month.  If you love makeup you'll love getting a bag from Ipsy.

ESSIE - BUTLER PLEASE

I absolutely love this shade of blue .  I went to get my nails done and when I saw this colour at the salon I knew I had to get it.

L'OREAL MAGIC PERFECTING BASE - FACE PRIMER

This is a great primer.  It's kind of like the L'Oreal Magic Skin BB Cream. I use this everyday as an under eye cream. It helps smooth the fine lines around your eyes. I only use it as a primer on my whole face if I have somewhere special to go when I want to have my makeup last longer. You can purchase it at Shoppers for $18 or Walmart for $12 . So hopefully you buy it at Walmart.

REVLON PHOTOREADY 3D VOLUME MASCARA

My sister in law recommended this mascara to me .  I really like it.  It stays on all day and doesn't smudge . Which happens a lot with most every mascara I try.  It also made my lashes look really long. You can purchase it at Shoppers for around $12.

SALLY HANSEN FUZZY COAT - WOOL KNOT

I DO NOT recommend this polish.  It looks neat on but it is IMPOSSIBLE to get off. After 20 minutes and a ridiculous amount of cotton balls I gave up.  I had to go get a nail fixed at a salon so I got them to take it off.  They had to sand it off.  This polish is a nightmare .

BEAUTY BLENDER

I'm not one to use my fingers to put makeup on, I'm more of a brush person.  So when I saw someone on youtube talking about the beauty blender, I was really interested in giving it a try.  I found one at Sephora but I couldn't believe the price , $26 for a little makeup sponge .  Are you kidding me?  I went on ebay and found a knock off one for $1.53 with free shipping and figured I'd give it a try.  I love it.  It's tear drop shape is perfect for putting concealer under your eyes.  I use it to blend in the L'Oreal Super Blendable Crayon.  You can even use it for eyeshadow.  The only difference is the knock off one is a little firmer material.  26 dollars or $1.53, you do the math.

NICOLE BY OPI - KHLOE HAD A LITTLE LAM-LAM

I saw this colour on sale at Shopper's for $4. It's a blue/green shade . I haven't seen anything like it. It's very beautiful. The polish has very good wear as well. If you come across this colour give it a try. Hard to tell how nice the colour is from these pics so I took a picture with and without the flash

 URBAN DECAY'S NAKED PALETTE

For years now, at least once a month I would buy some sort of eye shadow for my collection.  But I have been wanting this eyeshadow palette for over a year. It is pricey so I could never bring myself to buy it. My husband bought it for me for Christmas. I couldn't have been more happy. You can buy it at Sephora for $60. Since I got this I haven't even looked at eyeshadows in the store . Even though it is a lot for make up I would probably spend more then that on drug store eyeshadows in the amount of time it will take to use up this. I love every colour so unlike the drug store ones I buy then decide I don't like I'm actually going to use this up. It has very long wear that lasts all day. It comes in a very nice case with a built in mirror which is a bonus. It also comes with an eyeshadow brush and a travel size Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I love these eye shadows, if your an eyeshadow junkie like me it's worth the purchase. This palette comes with 12 neutral shades from light to dark.

MARC ANTHONY REPAIRING MACADAMIA OIL TREATMENT

I picked this up at Shoppers for around $8 while looking for something to help with frizz and split ends. It works really well. You just apply a few drops to damp or dry hair and style as usual.

Let me know if you have tried any of these products and what you thought of them.

Beauty Reviews 2

Here's a few items I use on a regular basis.

AVANTI ULTRA CERAMIC STRAIGHTENER

This straightener has 1" plates and heats up to 430 degrees. You can purchase it at Trade Secrets and I paid $79.99. It came with a 2 year warranty. It works just as well as a Chi except half the price. I have owned 2 Chi's and within a year of each of them stopped working. It actually gets hotter then a Chi. The original Chi only gets as hot as 356 degrees. So far this straightener has lasted longer then both of my chi's combined and I still haven't had any problems. If your looking for a great straightener I really recommend this one.

L'OREAL TRUE MATCH SUPER BLENDABLE CRAYON CONCEALER

This concealer crayon is great for cover blemishes and dark under eye circles. With 3 kids under 5 I often have bags under my eyes lol. It's a thick crayon so if you need to apply a lot it's easy or if you only need a little bit you can use the tip. You just have to twist the bottom so there's no need for a sharpener. I bought it at Walmart for around $8 The colour I use is Fair W1-2-3

QUO INSTANT ARTIST

This line of nail polish is great for making designs on your nails. It has a thin brush that allows you to make thick or thin lines depending on how much polish you have on the brush. I love that I can do my own designs on my fingers or toes instead of having to pay for it at a nail salon.  I purchased this at Shoppers for $4. Below is an example of how you can make thin or thick lines with the brush. This colour is Neon Pink.

COVERGIRL LASHBLAST 24HR MASCARA

I love all of lashblast mascaras from Covergirl. This mascara is waterproof and has really long wear. It gives your eyelashes lots of volume. I have been buying this brand for over a year now and used the regular lashblast (orange tube) for about 3 years before that. No matter how many mascaras I've tried ( I've tried many) for length I always go back to these ones. The colour I use is Very Black. I purchased it at Shopper for $12.99.

Beauty Reviews 1

Occasionally I will review some beauty items such as makeup, hair, nail and skin products. Today there is only likes. There hasn't been anything lately that I disliked but that might change by next time.

L'OREAL MAGIC SKIN BEAUTIFIER B.B. CREAM

I love this cream. I use this in place of foundation now. The back of the tube claims "Beautifying beads: encapsulated pigments that instantly transform to your perfect shade for the look of a flawless bare skin finish" Well I can say that's definitely true. It comes out a white cream and once you rub it in you can see it turns to a shade very similar to your skin. It also makes your skin feel very soft. I like how you don't even feel like you have anything on your face. I'm not a fan of foundations because they make my face feel heavy. I tested out a few different B.B. creams before purchasing this one. I found some of them runny and already tinted a shade which I couldn't find a shade I liked. I use the shade 810 Fair. This retails as Shoppers for $18.99 or Walmart for $12.99.

PHYSICIANS FORMULA MINERAL LOOSE POWDER

As mentioned above I don't like  foundations. I found a powder that I could use in place, something light weight. This powder has great coverage. The brush it comes with is good for buffing it on. I wear this over top of the L'Oreal B.B. cream. The shade I use is creamy natural. I purchased this at Shoppers and can't remember the price but I believe it was just over $10,

CHI SILK INFUSION

Before I started using this my hair would still have a little frizz to it after I straightened it. After the first time I used it my hair was so soft with no frizz. You just apply a very small drop to your hand and rub it through your hair when wet.  This is my most favorite hair product. The first time I bought this was at a beauty supply store and cost $25 for a 2oz bottle. It's not cheap but since I wash my hair every few days it lasted about 2 1/2 years. So it's well worth the price.  I am an occasional ebay shopper so I decided to see if I could find it cheaper on there. I found a pack of 4 .5 oz bottles for about $12. So I saved $13. Only difference is I'll have 4 bottles instead of 1.

HARD CANDY FOX IN A BOX
I have tried other Hard Candy blushes and have really liked them. The ones I have had a little shimmer to them so I was looking for a more matte and warm colour. This blush has duo colours and has long wear.  I purchased it from Walmart. All hard candy products are reasonably priced. This cost me $6. It was a little more then their other blushes but it does come in a cute little box.
