Halloween Treat Bags and Pumpkin Mandarin Cups

This year I did treat bags for my daughter to take to school and Sparks and pumpkin mandarin cups for my son to give out at preschool for Halloween.

This is what I used for their treats:

-snack size chocolate bars
-welches fruit snacks (not pictured)
-treat bags
-mandarin fruit cups
-Halloween pencils
-black marker (not pictured)
-thin ribbon (not pictured)

Treat Bags

For my daughter's friends I used a treat bag and filled it with 1 pencil, 2 snack size chocolate bars and a pack of fruit snacks.  I used ribbon to close the bag and curled the ends.

Pumpkin Mandarin Cups

My son is only 2 and I know he will already get a ton of candy from his Halloween party so I decided on a healthier treat.  I took mandarin fruit cups and used a black marker to draw a pumpkin face on it.  He thought it was awesome so I hope the other kids will like it.  I saw this idea on Pinterest a while back and thought it was so cute .

Tissue Paper Pumpkins

This is a great craft to do with the kids.  I did this with my 2 and 6 year old.  We even did this twice in one week.  These are also great to display for Halloween decorations.

What you need for this:

- toilet paper
- orange tissue paper
- green tissue paper
- tape
- markers

Take a piece a orange tissue paper and fold it in half.  Place the toilet paper at the end and roll it up.  Use a piece of tape on the seam.  Push the ends of the tissue paper into the ends of the toilet paper roll.  Cut a small piece of green tissue paper and stick it in one of the ends.  Give your kids a marker and let them create their own faces.  I hope your kids enjoy this Halloween craft as much as mine did.

Happy Canada Day

I'd just like to wish all my Canadian readers a Happy Canada Day.
I hope you all are enjoying the day with your family.
Yesterday we spent the day celebrating with great friends for a BBQ and fireworks.
Today we will be relaxing at home with another BBQ and a fun day playing in the backyard.

If you have any Canada Day traditions you do with your kids, family or friends please share .
I'm always looking for new ideas.

Thanks A Latte - Gifts for Teachers

I usually have such a hard time deciding what to give to my daughter's teachers at the end of the year.  This year I had seen this idea on Pinterest and knew I had to make it.

THANKS A LATTE - GIFT CARD

Here is what you need to make this gift:
- card stock paper (or you can get it printed at Staples)
- Starbucks gift card
- Starbucks coffee cup sleeve
- glue stick
- tape

This is very easy to make it took me about 5 minutes.

To download the "Thanks A Latte" template click here .  I printed it on card stock since it is thicker paper.

After printing I glued the sleeve on and taped the gift card into the sleeve.
Then all you have to do is get your little one to sign it.

Happy Valentine's Day! Heart nail design and heart muffins!

Valentine's Day isn't something my husband and I celebrate. But we love to try and make it fun for the kids. Yesterday I made some heart shaped muffins so they could have for breakfast to get them in the Valentine's Day spirit. I picked up some silicone heart shaped muffin molds at the dollar store and because I didn't have time to make them from scratch I used some MacMillans muffin batter.

If you haven't heard of MacMillans they have a great selection of muffin and cookie batters along with frozen pizzas, cheesecakes, fruit and vegetables and tons of other products. If you would like to know more about MacMillans click here. The thing I love about it is I can take it out of the freezer the night before and after I use it I can put it back in the freezer after I use what I need. The muffin batter will keep in the fridge up to 3 weeks or in the freezer up to 6 months and any unused portions can be refrozen.

Here is what they looked like after baking. I'm so glad I bought these molds. I think they look so cute!

Valentine's Day Gifts

With Valentine's Day in a couple days I wanted to share what gifts I put together for my kids to give to their friends. First I'll start with my oldest Isabella who is 5. I bought valentine's pencils from the dollar store and glued tags onto them.

All I did was print off the template cut each one out and used a glue stick to glue it. If you would like the template click here. She also will be giving princess valentine's cards as well.

For her class party I decided to make mini pretzels dipped in chocolate with sprinkles.

She is also in Sparks so I bagged up some of these treats up for her to give as gifts along with valentine's cards.

Now for my son Dean who is 2. He goes to pre-school. I bought bags, stamps, suckers and chocolate hearts from the dollar store to make his gifts.

Last one! My daughter Gabriella who is 7 months is in a program called Roots Of Empathy. Since she was 4 months she visits a kindergarten class once a month until the end of the school year. I will write more about that program soon.  The kids absolutely adore her so I wrote out valentines with a chocolate heart taped on it for that class.

I hope these ideas will help with future Valentine's Days!
